How to stay healthy this winter
Winter is coming....Yes, winter is well on the way and is notorious for also being the cold and flu season. You may feel determined to avoid getting sick this year and we have a few ideas to help you maintain a healthy, germ free home.
The first recommendation we can make is make sure all your linens are cleaned regularly. You may not want to hear this but you should be cleaning your bed linens at least every fortnight. You spend upwards of 3000 hours in your bed per year, that 120 days! Your bed linens are a hot spot for dust mites, dust, skin flakes, sweat, body oils and the corresponding germs and bacteria that go along with that. Maintaining a good routine of cleaning your sheets and linens regularly will not only help your sleep but it will make sure you have a clean and healthy space to catch some Z's.
Open your windows as much as possible, instinct tells us to rug up and close up when the winter chill hits but we recommend you have your doors and windows open as much as possible during this period to air out your home and prevent the build up of mould/mildew. Mould and mildew are more likely to grow in areas that see very little light and fresh air. We suggest you to keep your windows open while at work during the day to ensure adequate air flow throughout your home.
